This research was designed to examine the relationship of video teaching and audio teaching on pre-school Iranian learners' listening comprehension (word recognition) improvement, considering learner‗s gender. The target words are 6 names of animals and 6 names of colors. The study predicts method as a significant factor on improvement of listening comprehension achievement. Gender was also considered to be a mediating factor in the relationship of listening comprehension and achievement. The participants of the study were 80 students, in two groups which 20 girls and 20 boys are in each one, studying in Hasti Kindergarten. Achievement was taken after completing the 7 weeks of teaching period .Pre and post test was done. Data was collected during spring 2013 when the participants were enrolled in their last semester in the kindergarten. SPSS 12 was used for data analysis and various statistical measures including correlation, regression, ANOVA and t-test, were applied to make inference from the observed data. The results of the study did not support all the proposed hypotheses and revealed significant relationships among the major variables of the study.
