    В произведениях Брэдфорд очевидна одна вещь: ее способность вовлечь вас в историю. Это продолжение «Великой женщины», и в этой истории мы узнаем предысторию Блэки О’Нила. Сирота, он покидает сельский округ Керри, чтобы жить со своим дядей в Лидсе, и там действительно начинается его жизнь. Он изучает свое ремесло и в Йоркшире встречает кухарку по имени Эмма Харт. Если вы поклонник саги о семье Хартов, вам обязательно стоит прочитать этот приквел. Моя проблема с книгой получилась такая: вторая половина, которая во многом напоминала переписывание «Состоятельной женщины» меня не впечатлила ничем новым! все это было уже знакомо и известно заранее. Ну а если предсказуемо, то какое положительное впечатление мне здесь написать?! я в недоумении.
