    Хотя это художественная литература, постскриптум ясно дает понять, что она основана на детстве автора и была написана именно так. Поэтому очень легко представить, какую жизнь вела Смит, когда она росла в условиях, которые мы сегодня считаем крайней нищетой, но с любовью и поддержкой своей семьи. На самом деле поразительна стойкость, но также и невинность того времени, отмеченного тяжелым трудом, нестабильными условиями и сообществом.
