King Solomon's Mines tells a story of a search of an unexplored region of Africa by a group of adventurers led by Allan Quatermain. Allan Quatermain is a sequel of King Solomon's Mines based on author's own experience in the African continent. Quatermain has lost his only son and longs to get back into the wilderness. Together with Sir Henry Curtis, Captain John Good, and the Zulu chief Umbopa he survives fierce encounters with Masai warriors, undergoes a terrifying subterranean journey, and discovers a lost civilization before being caught up in a passionate love-triangle.
