Although I really liked Thunder and Shadow and thought it set Needletail and Violetpaw up as very complex characters, Shattered Sky kind of threw it all out the window. It was very fast-paced, making everything seem rushed. Needletail's redemption felt forced. The revealing of the SkyClan secret brought no commotion amongst the Clans, which was literally the only reason why it wasn't revealed. Darktail's backstory didn't make sense and felt as if it was just thrown in there to surprise us. Alderheart lost all his personality. The fake Twigpaw death scene was just for shock factor. Nobody stopped Tigerheart and Dovewing from leaving together? Not even Ivypool? Speaking of which, the Ivypool/Twigpaw mentor relationship was lost too, which was one of my favorite parts about the last book. Whereas Survivors is too slow-paced, I felt this book was too fast-paced and a great departure from the first two books.
