    Рэйчел Харрис прекрасно справилась, воспользовалась своими писательскими способностями, вовлекая читателя в хорошо написанный сюжет, ярких и увлекательных персонажей, а также в атмосферу Лондона 1800-х годов. Есть большой набор персонажей и возможных подозреваемых, но лишь немногие, судьба которых меня интересовала. Есть несколько информационных отвалов, но автору удается максимально свести к более-менее естественным разговорам. Нам действительно нужно осознавать (всегда?) неустойчивый характер отношений между Англией и Францией. Хорошая история, хороший сценарий, хорошие персонажи, много отвлекающих маневров. В целом, мне понравилось знакомство с этой популярной исторической мистической книгой.
